What do I do now that I have decided to fix this problem myself? Empty 2002 toyota prius

Post  MJL Tue Jan 12, 2010 3:45 pm

Hello -

i have a 2002 prius that died the other day.

my charge wasn't holding for very long and now it won't even turn over. i was told that the main battery is crap.

i found your information here, but am kind of confused on where i need to go to get the cells that i'm gonna need for my battery.

can you point me in the right direction of where to get my cells? everything that i found wants me to buy a new battery.

any help would be good.

thanks in advance!

MJL

Your new cells will come out of a newer hybrid battery. We do this because buying new/used cells can be very expensive, and in most cases the cells come out of newer hybrid batteries any way.

So we have cut to the chase, and are showing you in the guide how to do this yourself and save the money.

By buying a battery that was made in the more recent years, and taking the cells from them, and putting them in your old battery pack, you are getting a rebuilt battery that you did on your own.

Then you just simply put it back in your car, and away you go!

Yes,

We get live updates to our iPhones, we are busy sometimes, but usually reply quickly!

What good is buying a solution to your problem from us, if we do not solve it?

We are happy to help!

P.S. Let me know if you need more information when you are buying your batteries, you will need two 04' and up batteries, or one 04' and up battery plus some cells in order to fill your whole battery pack.

The 2001-2003 come with 38 cells, and the 04' and up come with 28. So you will need to get more.

This also means that you will have valuable materials left over when you have completed your project. Make sure to sell them on eBay when you are done with your rebuild as a form of a kickback.

This is how you get closer to the $500 price range when you are done!

Ask if you need more information on this.

Thanks,

CS
